Julia Roberts, icon of icons, sealed her fate and took home the Icon Award at the 2022 Academy Museum Gala. Since Pretty Woman<\/em> Roberts has remained a top-tier style and beauty icon with her timeless, but always effortlessly chic look. To accept her award, Roberts wore a gorgeous Thom Brown corset gown with a sleek updo and classic Julia Roberts glam by her makeup artist Genevieve Herr. Herr gave <\/span>Byrdie<\/b><\/a> all the exact details and products on the look so we could get in on the beauty too.<\/span><\/p>\n

When creating the look, Genevieve\u2019s focal point emphasized Julia\u2019s natural beauty, \u201cFor this red carpet, it was all about clean makeup. We really kept the focus on creating a gorgeous complexion that let Julia\u2019s natural beauty and joy take center stage. We did do a little bit of a nod to the \u2018siren eye\u2019 trend too. I used two different Lanc\u00f4me eyeliners to get a thicker lash line \u2013 <\/span>Lanc\u00f4me<\/strong> <\/a>Drama Liqui-Pencil in French Chocolate, which I used on the top lash line, the top water line, and in the corners of the eyes to give a sultry effect. And then I went over the top lash line with Lanc\u00f4me Id\u00f4le Liquid Liner and used it to add a wing. The finishing touch was a few coats of Lanc\u00f4me\u2019s Lash Id\u00f4le Mascara,\u201d Herr says.<\/p>\n

When it comes to inspo Herr says, \u201cJulia had an amazing Thom Browne outfit that her stylist, Elizabeth Stewart, picked out for her and that's where a lot of the beauty inspiration came from. We kept the look simple and clean to match it. We loved the way it turned out because it really allowed Julia\u2019s natural beauty to shine through.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cSkin prep was key to keep the makeup glowy and long-lasting,\u201d Herr continues. \u201cWe used Lanc\u00f4me\u2019s Advanced Genifique Serum and Eye Cream, which gives the most perfect radiant base and really helps smooth the skin, topping it with Lanc\u00f4me\u2019s Absolute Brightening & Revitalizing Rich Cream, to infuse lots of hydration to the skin. I also used Lanc\u00f4me\u2019s Prep & Hydrate Primer to retain that dewy effect all night long.<\/p>\n

The most important part of the look, according to Herr, was Lanc\u00f4me\u2019s Teint Idole Ultra Wear Care & Glow Foundation, \u201cThis is a really special serum-based foundation that\u2019s packed with skincare goodies like Hyaluronic Acid and Mandelic Acid to hydrate and smooth the skin for a beautiful, natural glowing finish. It really imparts such a beautiful, healthy glow to the skin and has quickly become my go-to favorite foundation.\u201d<\/p>\n

The look was complete with a few additional products. Herr used Teint Idole Ultra Wear All Over Concealer underneath the eyes to brighten the complexion. Next, she used a swipe of the Blush Subtil in Rose Resque to Julia\u2019s cheeks for a rosy look. On her lips, Herr used the Le Lip Liner in Sheer Raspberry to the line and fill before using the Rouge Cream Lipstick in Call Me Sienna for a dewy finish.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
