How does Daxxify work to help reduce wrinkles?<\/h3>\n

It works as an\u00a0acetylcholine release inhibitor and neuromuscular blocking agent and is the first and only peptide-formulated, long-acting neuromodulator approved for this indication.<\/p>\n

What is the minimum amount of units\/dose of Daxxify required for glabella injection?<\/h3>\n

The FDA determined, based on the treatment of 2700 people, that the optimal dose of Daxxify<\/strong> <\/a>for glabella lines\/frown lines is 0.1 mL (8 Units) by intramuscular injection into each of five sites, for a total dose of 40 Units. Enrolled subjects were 21 to 75 years old, with a mean age of 50 years, and were predominantly female (87%) and Caucasian (86%).<\/p>\n

Is Daxxify injection stronger than Botox?<\/h3>\n

It is impossible to predict and answer this question as every patient responds differently. You need to try both and see if one lasts longer for you.<\/p>\n

Does Daxxify injection last longer than Botox?<\/h3>\n

The clinical data from the SAKURA phase 3 clinical trial program provides evidence that the duration of the Daxxify injection can last up to 6 months and even 9 months for some individuals. Do we know the similarities among the people who were able to get 9 months out of the injections? No, but it would be helpful to know their secret.<\/p>\n

How long does Daxxify injection effect last on wrinkles?<\/h3>\n

In a clinical trial involving 2700 adults who received about 4200 injection treatments, the median duration of effect of Daxxify on wrinkle improvement was 6 months, with some patients even reporting a 9 months duration when compared to other neuromodulators, which last about 3-4 months.<\/p>\n

How much does Daxxify injection by Revance Aesthetics for the frown line cost?<\/h3>\n

As with any medication, the cost cannot be compared with other products because the formulation is different and the dosage is different. Daxxify by Revance Aesthetics did mention that the cost will likely be more than current neuromodulators on the market because of the formulations, dosage, as well as the long duration of 6-9 months, compared to the 3-4 months average of the competitor formulations.<\/p>\n

The cost also depends on the location of the practice and the experience and expertise of the aesthetic provider who will offer this product. This is an advanced product with a long duration, and whom you choose to administer this product matters greatly.<\/p>\n

The minimum recommended Daxxify dose for relaxation of frown lines was determined to be 40 units. This dosage may increase depending on the size of the area as well as the size and activity of the frown muscles. This will be discussed during your detailed in-person consultation.<\/p>\n

What is the dose difference in units between Botox and Daxxify?<\/h3>\n

These are different medications with different formulations. The only similarity is they belong to the same drug category of neuromodulators and have the same target of achieving muscle relaxation by blocking its excitement. The doses should not be interchanged, but for people who are super curious, the minimum recommended dose of Botox<\/strong><\/a> for relaxation of frown lines (glabella lines) is 20 units, and the minimum dose of units of Daxxify for relaxation of frown lines (glabella lines) is 40 units, as seen in the chart below.<\/p>\n

Can I receive Daxxify injection while pregnant?<\/h3>\n

There is no available data on DAXXIFY use in pregnant women to evaluate for a drug-associated risk of major birth defects, miscarriage, or adverse maternal or fetal outcomes. In animal reproduction studies, intramuscular administration of DAXXIFY during pregnancy resulted in adverse effects on fetal growth (decreased fetal body weight and skeletal ossification) at maternally toxic doses approximately equivalent to 40 times the maximum recommended human dose (MRHD).<\/p>\n

Can I receive Daxxify injection when breastfeeding?<\/h3>\n

There is no data on the presence of DAXXIFY in human or animal milk, the effects on the breastfed infant, or the effects on milk production.<\/p>\n
