When you hear the word rhinoplasty, you instantly think of the cosmetic changes that can be done to your nose. But, as accurate as that might be, rhinoplasty, better known as a nose job, presents additional benefits past the cosmetic look of your nose. The two most common are deviated septum and turbinate hypertrophy.<\/p>\n

What is a deviated septum?<\/h3>\n

The septum is a large piece of cartilage that goes from the top of your nose's palate to the nose's dorsum. It helps support the nose and separate the two nostrils. Deviated septums can result from trauma or genetic reasons\u2014both cause C or S deformities, impacting your ability to breathe.<\/p>\n

A deviated septum can be assessed from the nose's outside and inside. Sometimes, you cannot see a deviated septum from the outside of the nose and vice versa. However, once Dr. Salomon asses both outside and inside the nose, he can see how bad the deviation is.<\/p>\n
