Photo Credit: Shutterstock <\/span>If you watched Lucy Hale in Pretty Little Liars<\/em> or any other TV show or movies she has appeared in, you would never guess that adult acne was in the equation. The stunning actress recently opened up about her struggles with adult acne and how it affected her self-esteem as well as her experience on the PLL set.<\/p>\n

Hale told Glamour, <\/em>\u201cThere were tears, there were days when I didn\u2019t want to be in front of a camera. I remember vividly one day we were filming Pretty Little Liars<\/em>\u2014and the show was called Pretty Little Liars, <\/em>so they wanted us to look a certain way\u2014we had to specially light my skin to reflect in a different way so you wouldn\u2019t see my acne. I remember being just so embarrassed and mortified.\u201d<\/p>\n

The actress attributes her dedication to her regimented skincare routine to her struggles with her skin in the past. Developing her current routine took some trial and error; Hale says that she has \u201ctried it all\u201d explaining that it can be hard to find what works right for you because of the abundance of options on the market. With the help of an esthetician, Lucy was able to identify her skin type and seek out products that were most compatible with her combination skin.<\/p>\n

Skin Secrets<\/h3>\n

  1. The actress admits that wearing makeup stresses her out a bit over the thought of clogging her pores with excess product. However, Lucy is an ambassador for Almay<\/a> <\/strong>and says she uses the brand\u2019s Clear Complexion Foundation and Concealer, which contain salicylic acid, to help combat any blemishes even when wearing makeup.<\/li>\n
  2. Hale starts her morning with a refreshing eye patch treatment cooled in the fridge and rolls the cryo balls over her face to help minimize the appearance of her pores.<\/li>\n
  3. One product Hale praises, and has made its way into her shortened skincare regimen is hyaluronic acid. She applies the product onto her face directly following a shower when her skin is still a little damp.<\/li>\n
  4. Lucy loves a good treatment and pampers herself with HydraFacials around once a month and occasional micro-needling with Sora Connor at Joanna Vargas.<\/li>\n
  5. After discovering the heat in her house was drawing moisture out of her skin, Lucy started using a humidifier to help balance out the dryness in her skin.<\/li>\n
  6. On her journey to repair her gut health to help her skin, Lucy landed on ActivatedYou<\/a><\/strong>, a wellness powder line started by her friend Maggie Q.
