There are basically two kinds of veneers \u2013 porcelain and composite. When you decide to get porcelain veneers, your dentist will first create temporary veneers. When you are satisfied with the temporaries, you will take more molds, photos, and X-rays. While you wear the temporaries for about a week or ten days, the dentist will get the permanent veneers ready.<\/p>\n

In the prep stage, your teeth may need to be shaved down, depending on your situation. For instance, if you are getting veneers due to discoloration, staining, or crooked teeth \u2013 your teeth will need to be shaved down. For fixing gaps or elongated teeth; you won\u2019t need much prepping.<\/p>\n
