Melissa Barrera has come a long way from starring in the Mexican telenovela <\/span>Siempre tuya Acapulco<\/span><\/i>. On top of playing the leading character in the Starz series <\/span>Vida<\/span><\/i>, the 30-year-old actress will star as Vanessa in Lin-Manuel Miranda\u2019s screen adaptation of the musical<\/span> In the Heights<\/span><\/i>. And now, she\u2019s achieved another accomplishment: Barrera is Clinique\u2019s first Global Brand Ambassador to come from either of the Americas. <\/span>\u201cIt is kinda crazy that I\u2019m the first, I hadn\u2019t even thought about it that way,\u201d she told <\/span>Vogue<\/a><\/strong>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Clinique\u2019s Global Creative Director Elizabeth Nolan expressed how the beauty brand admires Barrera\u2019s efforts that have led to her present-day accomplishments. \u201cWe want people with substance to represent Clinique, more than just pretty faces and talking heads,\u201d Nolan told Vogue. \u201cWe knew immediately that Melissa\u2019s energy and passion are inextricable from what makes her so beautiful and are excited to bring our products to life in a new way with her bold voice.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
