Dr. Mariano Busso<\/a><\/strong> talks to learn more about his upgraded approach to address dark under-eye bags that he\u2019s been performing for decades. His unique injecting technique lasts longer than your average tear trough filler and has transformational results.<\/p>\nHB: How do you address dark circles under the eyes?<\/h3>\n
Most dark circles are dark not because the skin is dark, but because of sagging. We use hyaluronic acid like everyone else but for some reason, that specific location tends to hold longer than other areas. We use Voluma which by definition lasts 1-3 years. But secondly, the filler is not lost very easily in the specific compartment that we inject.<\/p>\n
It takes some time to master the technique and I\u2019ve been doing this for a long time so most doctors don't do it. At the most, they will do tear trough fillers which is a sparse improvement.<\/p>\n
HB: How does the treatment work?<\/h3>\n
First, we do laser mapping of the area to map the vascular system and avoid bruising. Second I use a cannula, no needles because it causes more trauma which creates more bruising and swelling. I am one of the few people that use Voluma in that area because it is robust and doesn't move.<\/p>\n
