Dr. Mariano Busso<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology and a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. He is recognized as one of the world\u2019s leading experts in cosmetic fillers as acknowledged in the prestigious Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology (JAAD) by the president of the American Academy of Dermatology, Dr. C. William Hanke. Dr. Mariano Busso was honored to be a part of the FDA advisory panel that developed national guidelines for the use of cosmetic fillers. Over the past three decades, Dr. Busso has developed one of the largest cosmetic practices in the U.S. based in Miami, Florida and has since expanded his practice to Beverly Hills, California to serve his celebrity clientele. Haute Beauty chats with Dr. Mariano Busso<\/a><\/strong> to learn more about the LA-based Dermatologist.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

My greatest achievement:<\/h3>\n

Changing the world of fillers by introducing lidocaine into any filler and being able to change its physical properties.<\/p>\n

The future of my field is:<\/h3>\n

The field is going towards less invasive \/ minimal downtime procedures. Tissue repositioning with threads will become the gold standard.<\/p>\n

The biggest misconception about my field is:<\/h3>\n

Only surgical approaches can achieve true rejuvenation.<\/p>\n

My most requested procedures are:<\/h3>\n

Fillers to reverse dark circles.<\/p>\n

What are you best known for?<\/h3>\n

Filler injections for facial recontouring and BussoLyft (lifting fat pads with threads and fillers).<\/p>\n

What is your most memorable patient reaction?<\/h3>\n

Patients crying after seeing results that they did not believe were possible.<\/p>\n

What sets my practice apart:<\/h3>\n

A very well established practice with 25 years of consistently high standards, carrying the latest technology as well as performing the clinical trials for it with a team of people that love the cosmetic field.<\/p>\n

What I love most about my profession is:<\/h3>\n

The constant technological breakthroughs.<\/p>\n

Career defining procedure?<\/h3>\n

Developing the technique for hand augmentation with Radiesse and now the BussoLyft.<\/p>\n
