What is Explant Surgery?<\/h3>\n

Explant surgery is an option for patients who experience chronic complications associated with their breast implants, have concerns about developing implant-associated cancer, or who simply no longer wish to have implants.<\/p>\n

How is the procedure performed?<\/h3>\n

Explant surgery should be performed by a board-certified plastic surgeon. During the procedure, the surgeon removes the breast implant and all of the surrounding scar tissue (referred to as a capsule). The procedure is typically performed in an outpatient setting.
