HB: What is special about this brow lift?<\/span><\/h3>\n

A less invasive brow lift that works!!<\/span><\/p>\n

Hooding of the skin over the eyes can make you appear older and tired. The hooding over the outer part of the eye cannot be treated with fillers, lasers or even upper blepharoplasty (eyelid) surgery. Occasionally a chemical browlift with botulinum toxin can help slightly but a brow lift is needed to get the best results.\u00a0 I am not a big fan of overly elevated brows. If you look at most young faces who we feel are beautiful, the brows are not high. However, with age, the skin loses its elasticity and volume and therefore starts to fall over the eyelid.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

HB: How does this technique differ from others?<\/span><\/h3>\n

There are several brow lift techniques that were developed to lift the brows to a more natural position. The most commonly marketed technique is the endoscopic browlift. The downside is that most surgeons find this technique to have subtle results and not enough lift. The other techniques are either too invasive or have visible incisions. I utilize a new technique that combines the shorter incisions of the endoscopic lift with the effective nature of the open technique. The incisions are hidden but results are very noticeable and effective.<\/span><\/p>\n

HB: Who is a good candidate?<\/span><\/h3>\n

A good candidate is usually women who have droopy skin over the outer part of the eyes that is not part of the eyelid skin. Ideally, they have a normal-sized forehead or even a large forehead. The patient has to be healthy and suitable for anesthesia.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

HB: What have been common results?<\/span><\/h3>\n

The procedure is designed to lift the outer portion of the brow to elevate the brow skin off the eyelids. It allows the eyes to look more open and brighter. Patients often say that their friends and family tell them they look more rested.<\/span><\/p>\n

HB: So, what does recovery look like?<\/span><\/h3>\n

The great thing about my technique is that recovery is quite mild. I often perform my brow lift in combination with other procedures such as blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery), facelift, etc but the browlift itself causes mild bruising around the eyes and swelling that is often resolved within one week. Pain is minimal and incisions are hidden in the hair, so they are invisible even on day one.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
