HB: What are the most common requests amongst males seeking a cosmetic Rhinoplasty?<\/span><\/h3>\n

I find that most of my male patients tend to come in to rectify a dorsal hump that is often excessively large. Males who have engaged in sports early on in life also seek to correct a deviation of the nose resulting from untreated breaks incurred from participating in high impact sports over time. In the case of male ethnic rhinoplasty, I tend to address the lack of projection of the tip as well as the lack of definition of the dorsum. Male ethnic rhinoplasties focus more on thinning out and building up the nose rather than reducing the nose. <\/span><\/p>\n

HB: What are most common requests among females seeking a cosmetic Rhinoplasty?<\/span><\/h3>\n

I find that most of my female rhinoplasty patients come in seeking smaller changes that result in a more refined appearance. Female rhinoplasty patients also often seek out removing dorsal excess and defining the tip, but to a lesser degree than male patients. Since female patients usually have thinner skin, the details of a rhinoplasty procedure have to be even more precise than male patients. <\/span><\/p>\n

HB: Do methods differ when treating men and women for cosmetic rhinoplasties?<\/span><\/h3>\n

I use a customized approach with my rhinoplasty procedures for both men and women. As with any procedure, no two patients are the same which is why it's very important to take a customized approach. Analyzing proportions of the nose inaddition to the overall facial features of the patient are important steps in ensuring the surgery has a positive outcome. <\/span><\/p>\n

HB:<\/span>\u00a0Does recovery differ between the two?<\/span><\/h3>\n

The recovery for rhinoplasty surgery is very similar between both men and women. The splint is usually removed at day 4 - 5, but I do not usually use nasal packings. My goal is to have my patients back to work or school in about 5 days after the procedure.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
