Board-certified dermatologist Dr. Ariel Ostad<\/a> specializes in laser, cosmetic and skin cancer surgery. After receiving his medical training from NYU School of Medicine, with specialty training at Harvard, NYU, and UCLA, he and his impeccable team has treated patients with all cosmetic, skin and hair concerns for over 20 years. Dr. Ostad sat down with Haute Beauty<\/em> to discuss his most requested procedures and the new services he is excited to bring to his practice this year.<\/p>\n

The future of my field is?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Nonsurgical skin tightening and lifting, more effective nonsurgical fat reduction, more powerful lasers and longer lasting fillers and Botox.<\/p>\n

The biggest misconception about my field is?<\/strong><\/p>\n

That any provider can create the same results with fillers, Botox and lasers.\u00a0 However, there is great skill, technique and knowledge of anatomy, along with compassion and empathy that determines the highest aesthetic outcome.<\/p>\n

My most requested procedures are?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Tumescent liposuction is one of the most commonly performed cosmetic procedures to date and is known as the gold standard of care in fat removal.\u00a0 The tumescent technique involves local anesthesia to be injected into the fat beneath your skin.\u00a0 This will eliminate your risk of general anesthesia and any associated surgical complications.\u00a0 Recovery time is reduced, bruising is reduced and your risk of bleeding is also significantly reduced.\u00a0 I perform this procedure in my own AAAASF certified surgical facility.\u00a0 The next most commonly requested cosmetic procedures in my office include nonsurgical correction of facial volume loss and sagging and wrinkles using Botox and fillers.\u00a0 Also, lasers for sun damage, redness and rosacea.<\/p>\n

What surgical advancements are you most excited about?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Newly developing fillers and Botox with longer lasting results<\/p>\n

Devices to permanently rid patients of cellulite<\/p>\n

Harvesting patient\u2019s blood growth factors to rejuvenate the face and skin as well as stimulate hair growth<\/p>\n

Advanced techniques involving threads to lift facial and body skin<\/p>\n

What are you best known for?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Liquid facelifts to correct facial volume loss and jowling, Tumescent liposuction, lasers for sun damage, Mohs micrographic surgery for treatment of skin cancer, facial reconstruction post skin cancer<\/p>\n


\nWhat is your most memorable patient reaction?<\/strong><\/p>\n

The \u201cwow-factor\u201d in all patients immediately post fillers to lift cheeks and getting rid of wrinkles.<\/p>\n

What sets my practice apart is?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Empathy, compassion and attention to detail and treating my patients like family.\u00a0 Our vision of aesthetic beauty is also how we differentiate ourselves from other practices.\u00a0 We do not want our patients to have an \u201coverly done\u201d appearance.\u00a0 In my practice, we believe that \u201cless is more\u201d and natural results are best.<\/p>\n

What I love most about my profession is?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Giving our patients the ability to walk out of our office feeling beautiful, capable and fearless with little downtime.\u00a0 With lasers, we can help acne and make brown spots (age spots) disappear.\u00a0 With injectable fillers we can correct facial asymmetry (unevenness) and restore volume loss and correct deformities with nonsurgical techniques using fillers. With Botox, we can correct wrinkles, TMJ pain and help with migraines.\u00a0 Tumescent liposuction to permanently reduce fat in areas that can be resistant to diet and exercise.\u00a0 The possibilities are endless\u2026But ultimately, I love saving patient\u2019s lives through early detection of skin cancer and facial cosmetic reconstruction to restore patient\u2019s natural appearance following skin cancer surgery and hence, restore their confidence.<\/p>\n

Career defining procedure?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Nonsurgical facelift using a combination of Botox, fillers, lasers and ultrasound to rejuvenate the face.\u00a0 Skin cancer surgery (Mohs surgery) with proper reconstruction to save someone\u2019s life.<\/p>\n

What new services are you excited to offer?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Nonsurgical buttock enhancement.\u00a0 Juliet laser for vaginal rejuvenation and correcting urinary incontinence.\u00a0 MiraDry to permanently treat underarm swear, odor and hair growth<\/p>\n
