Today, Jennifer Lopez celebrates her 48th <\/sup>\u00a0birthday \u2013\u00a0although she looks half that age. The singer and actress flaunts a wrinkle-free complexion and a toned body that are the stuff of headlines as often as her professional accomplishments.<\/p>\n

To mark the birthday of the woman who has grown from \u201cJenny from the block\u201d to a world-renowned superstar, we have compiled a list of her beauty tips that only boost what is unquestionably her great genes.<\/p>\n

Do not skimp on beauty sleep<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cThe number one tip is to always get enough sleep,\u201d J.Lo said in a 2016 interview with InStyle<\/a>. Although she aims for 10 hours of shuteye, with TV and studio engagements, eight is often the benchmark she doesn\u2019t miss.<\/p>\n

Reveal the beauty inside<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI also definitely think beauty comes from within \u2013 you have to keep your mind, soul, body and spirit in sync,\u201d the singer told InStyle\u2019s Kahlana Barfield Brown. Lopez dedicates 20 minutes a day to meditation.<\/p>\n

No caffeine, cigarettes or alcohol<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Lopez stays clear of morning joes and happy hours \u2013 they wreck the skin as it matures, she told \u00a0Today<\/a>\u00a0last year.<\/p>\n

Eat green<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

J.Lo seems to love her veggies \u2013 asparagus, Brussel sprouts and kale \u2013 that carry proven health and beauty benefits.<\/p>\n

Avoid the sun<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

In her youth, J.Lo shunned the sun. Today, her simple daily makeup routine begins with \u00a0sunscreen.<\/p>\n

Invest in good makeup cleanser<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Wearing heavy makeup onscreen, J.Lo counts on a great cleanser to remove dirt and moisturize her skin. When not at work, she opts for barely-there makeup, she told Allure<\/a>\u00a0back in 2011, \u201cI'm a big believer in the basics. Less is more. I get my cleanser from my dermatologist.\u201d<\/p>\n

Head to the Gym\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Known for the spectacles she stages on tours, J.Lo doesn't skip gym days.\u00a0\"I work out regularly and love to dance,\" she told InStyle.<\/p>\n
