Wherever they go, celebrities always seem to flaunt perfect, shiny and sleek locks. Their \u2018dos are the result of hours of treatment and prep, you would say. And you are right but the stars\u2019 hairstylists definitely have some tried-and-tested advice on how to keep hair healthy and resilient to the damage of excessive styling. Haute Beauty has reaped a page from their playbook.<\/p>\n

Dry-Hair DIY Fix \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Bobbi Brown<\/a> \u2013 a celebrity beauty expert \u2013 recommends an at-home coconut oil mask. She advises to heat the oil on a stove, separate the hair in strands, use a pastry brush to slather coconut oil from the ends to the roots, wait for 20 minutes and wash off with warm water. Kerry Joly, hairstylist for ABC, relies on a disparate concoction \u2013 Puerto Rican rum and a raw egg \u2013 blend, apply, wait for two minutes and wash away with cold water.<\/p>\n

Red-Carpet Gloss <\/strong><\/p>\n

The hair guru of a slew of hot stars, including the Kardashians, George Papnikolas <\/a>suggest to rinse the hair with cold water at the end of a shower. This chilly rush seals up hair cuticles, which allows them to reflect more light than usual. Augment the shine, use lightweight oils like almond and grapeseed.<\/p>\n

Texture it Up <\/strong><\/p>\n

Jen Atkin<\/a>, whose clients include the likes of Kim Kardashian West, swears by homemade texture sprays. For a sexy fresh-off-the-beach look, blend salt and conditioner and massage it on. For extra volume, mix sugar and water and spray it onto the hair before any heat styling. To keep a bouncy texture in between washes, use dry shampoo to damped any excessive oil, boost the roots and freshen the scalp.<\/p>\n

Shine from Inside <\/strong><\/p>\n

Supplements, Ms Atkin\u00a0says, can drastically enhance the health of the scalp, strengthen the hair and prompt its growth. Essential for a supple and robust hair are vitamins C and B, which are both staples of any well-balanced diet. In addition to consuming vital nutrients, Mr Papnikolas proffers a halt to smoking and drinking sugar drinks that prevent hair growth.<\/p>\n

Loosen it Up <\/strong><\/p>\n

Star hairstylist, Danilo<\/a>\u00a0instructs to slide a broad brush or comb through conditioned hair in the shower (before rinsing out the conditioner). The smooth motion will detangle the locks without causing any damage.<\/p>\n

Oil Out <\/strong><\/p>\n

To rule in on oily, flaky skin on the scalp, Kerry Joly suggests mixing two tablespoons of apple cider (or fresh lemon) with equal amounts of olive oil and distilled water. David Babaii<\/a> offers another cure \u2013 lemon and water. Baking soda and cinnamon presents yet another option \u2013 but be cautious with this one, as baking soda might irritate the skin when in excess.<\/p>\n
