- Bio Italian conductor Nicola Luisotti has been Music Director of the San Francisco Opera since September of 2009. Since making his debut, he now conducts at nearly every major opera company in the world, from La Scala in Milan to the Metropolitan Opera in New York. He has also led the San Francisco Opera Orchestra in performances presented by Cal Performances at Zellerbach Hall at UC Berkeley.
