- Bio Charles Phan is making waves in the world of Vietnamese cooking. The Executive Chef and owner of the Slanted Door Group made two new additions in 2013: South at SFJAZZ and Hard Water. The group’s other restaurants include Out the Door, OTD, Heaven’s Dog, Academy Café, The Moss Room and Green Cap Catering. His first cookbook, “Vietnamese Home Cooking”, won the 2013 IACP Chefs and Restaurants Cookbook award.
