- Bio Carl Berg bought Mission West Properties real estate investment trust in 1977. The firm, which formerly managed eight million square feet across 100 properties, offloaded its assets to realty developer Divco West last year in a deal worth approximately $1.3 billion. Berg now still maintains a private real estate portfolio through his firm Berg and Berg.
