Rihanna And Luxury Powerhouse LVMH To Partner Up For Fashion Line

Is there anything that Rihanna can’t do? The songstress/philanthropist/entrepreneur is soon teaming up with luxury powerhouse, Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton LVMH—the parent group to some of the biggest fashion houses in the world, including Dior, Givenchy, FENDI, Celine and of course, Louis Vuitton—to create a fashion brand. The partnership will also mark the first time that the luxury powerhouse will create a brand with a female designer of color.

Though the news has not yet officially broken from either of the two parties, it was first reported by WWD from sources within the LVMH group. What got the streets talking was a few days ago when Rihanna was spotted out in New York City wearing a never-before-seen pair of oversized sunglasses with FENTY (the star’s legal last name) emblazoned on the sides—a not-so-subtle hint, perhaps?

It’s no surprise that Robyn Rihanna Fenty continues to make history and blaze a trail within a multitude of industries, nor is it a surprise that she decided to move into the high fashion space. In fact, it almost seems like a natural progression from her cosmetics line, Fenty Beauty by Rihanna—also under LVMH—her lingerie line, SAVAGE X FENTY and now, likely, her fashion brand, especially since she can barely make a move without her head-turning ensembles making headlines. In fact, one of my personal fashion icons, some of Rihanna’s looks will go down in history as the most memorable—who could forget her slew of jaw-dropping Met Gala looks? Without official statement from either of the two parties, I’ll be waiting with bated breath to see what the Bahamian beauty comes up with!
