As if you thought Miami hospitality king David Grutman already had the hottest Rolodex of nightlife and hospitality venues in the city, the man proves to us that he just doesn’t stop. The Haute 100-lister announced on Wednesday that his company, Groot Hospitality, plans to keep the momentum going as they purchased the former Firestone South Beach space at 1569 Alton Road. The space will be transformed with Grutman’s magic touch, housing three new food and beverage concepts, as well as a retail concept.
Details of the newest project are scarce, aside from the location, but knowing Grutman’s history of creating the hottest A-list spots in the city, it surely won’t disappoint in any aspect of the experience—from food, beverage, service, entertainment and now retail, Groot Hospitality has it all. And he’s proven with each of his locations that he can’t be pigeon-holed into any specific category, debuting restaurants of all different cuisines and various nightlife concepts.
The mogul currenlty owns Miami’s No. 1 nightclub LIV and mega nightclub in the South of Fifth neighborhood, STORY. For restaurants, they own downtown celebrity-hot spot Komodo and Komodo Lounge upstairs; the posh OTL cafe in the Miami Design District; and the luxurious, plant-based eatery Planta in the South of Fifth neighborhood. Currently, he’s working to debut his newest concept, Swan and Bar Bevy with celebrity partner Pharrell Williams, which is set to debut in the glamorous Miami Design District this fall.
