Boston Honors Breast Cancer Awareness Month

With statistics as scary as one in eight women developing breast cancer (the second leading cause of cancer death in women), everyone knows October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and Boston area restaurants and retailers have now come together to offer their support.

This month, Lincoln Tavern & Restaurant is joining the fight against breast cancer by offering guests the Ta Ta Tasty, a specialty vodka-based cocktail  made with basil, lime, grapefruit, bitters, and elderflower with a portion of the proceeds being donated to the Ellie Fund, which offers support for breast cancer patients. (Sister restaurants Capo and Loco Taqueria & Oyster Bar are also running BCA cocktail specials supporting the Ellie Fund).

We also love Chamilia‘s “Brave & Strong” charm designed to benefit the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer initiative. The sterling silver charm has a lightly oxidized finish features the word “Brave” on one side and “Strong” on the reverse; both sides are accented with four Rose Swarovski Crystals.

This month, we can’t get enough of Vera Wang’s Truly Pink perfume. Fragrance.com is donating 15 percent of the proceeds to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation from the sale of this beautiful scented white freesia united with apricot and litchi.
