Car enthusiasts Patrick Dempsey, Jeff Beck and Ken Block were honored at the Petersen Automotive Museum‘s “Race, Rock ‘n Rally” gala.
The diverse trifecta — actor Dempsey, guitarist Beck and World Rally Championship driver Block — were feted for their love of cars.
Dempsey received the Petersen Automotive Enthusiast Award for his racing career, Block with the Petersen Automotive Inspiration Award for inspiring a younger audience of enthusiasts and Beck with the Petersen Automotive Artisan Award for his work as a hot rod collector and builder.
The gala evening on Oct. 24 began with a cocktail hour, followed by a charity auction and dinner.
Highlight auction items included a wheel from Block’s “Gymkhana 4” video, two Fender guitars signed by Beck and a race suit worn by Dempsey.
Money raised will support the educational programming at the Petersen: every year the museum hosts 15,000 children on field trips and the Robert E. Petersen Free School Bus Program pays for the buses for underserved schools.
The evening closed with a performance by Beck, his violinist Lizzie Ball and guitarist Nicholas Meier.
