Opening Ceremony to Open Pop-Up Market During New York Fashion Week

To celebrate the start of New York Fashion Week, Opening Ceremony is creating a pop-up marketplace at Pier 57. The temporary shopping complex will open its doors on Sept. 5 and offer a variety of food and fashion vendors including DKNY, Rihanna for River Island and the Dominique Ansel Bakery.

It only took the brand’s founders, Carol Lim and Humberto Leon, six week to finalize the plans for Opening Ceremony By the Way. “We decided that we wanted to activate [the fashion show] space for the entire week of fashion week,” Lim told Women’s Wear Daily. “It’s our version of giving guests the experience not only the day of the show. They can see curated fashion products and food.”

Other attractions include an Estée Lauder pop-up salon and the launch of Coca-Cola Designer Drinkware.
