This Thursday, Sir Elton John and his husband David Furnish opened the doors of their £20 million Old Windsor Estate for their Annual White Tie & Tiara Summer Ball. The event, which has raised funds for the Elton John AIDS Foundation for the last fifteen years, marked the 20th anniversary of the foundation.
Each year, the ball takes on a different theme – this year the theme was LOVE in honor of the Love Is In Blood campaign. Elton and David welcomed 500 guests to their house, which was decked out with intricate floral arrangements by celebrity florist Rob Van Helden. The celebrity guests included Elizabeth Hurley, Mischa Barton, Eva Herzigová, Agyness Deyn, Jerry Hall, Petra Němcová and Freida Pinto, many of whom wore Chopard (the evening’s sponsor). A highlight of the evening was when Elton and David helped Glee star Matthew Morrison announce his engagement to his model girlfriend of two years, Renee Puente! Elton and Coldplay singer Chris Martin then took to the stage to serenade the happy couple with a duet of Your Song, which fit nicely with the theme of love! Other guests included Christina Juffali, Ivana Trump, Kaz Al Zarka, Robbie and Lisa Tchenguiz, Heather Kerzner and Claudia van Leer. The night was a fun-filled affair, with a performance by Coldplay and stars mingling into the wee hours.
