Chanel To Debut Redesigned Bal Harbour Boutique
After an all-encompassing interior and exterior renovation, the Chanel boutique will be reopening their store on March 21st in Bal Harbour Shops. “Chanel has been a part of the Bal Harbour community since first opening in 1994. The redesigned Bal Harbour boutique is now one of the most beautiful Chanel boutiques in the world, and we are proud to reopen here in Miami,” says Barbara Cirkva, Chanel Fashion Division President.
Chanel recruited their long-time collaborator and architect Peter Marino to turn the 8,000 square-foot boutique into a unique space with a modern and airy feel to it. Marino successfully created a new, yet familiar expression of Chanel with exquisite detail, material and craftsmanship. The Chanel Boutique’s exterior will resemble a white, modern light box with floor to the ceiling display windows.
The new look is awash in hades of soft white and pale gold with plush carpets designed by Marino and hand-applied wall finishes. Costume jewelry will be elegantly displayed in handcrafted glass cases on floating shelves as well as leather goods, including the 2.55 and new Boy handbags.
The new store will unveil the 2013 Spring/Summer collection. The theme of this collection was air, light and energy, which perfectly express a new, ultra-modern look.
The boutique also has an ‘Ultra Luxe’ department, with J12 and Premiere Collection watches, iconic fine jewelry and a rare selection of exotic handbags under a Gossens chandelier.
Chanel has also commissioned special works of art for the Bal Harbour boutique, a tradition started by Coco Chanel herself. Pieces include Marc Swanson’s “Untitled (Sitting Buck),” “Aspirale” by Louis Durot, Liza Lou’s “Gather” and Peter Dayton’s “Camellias.”
