Third Moscow International Biennale for Young Art

Presenting diverse multimedia projects by artists from 77 countries, the Third Moscow International Biennale for Young Art is taking place in the Russian capital now through August 19.
The Third Moscow International Biennale for Young Art provides a wide range of educational activities, including roundtables, Main and Strategic projects featuring sound and video art, paintings, installations, sci-art, photography and live performances, and Parallel and Special programs running in various venues.
More than 2,700 artists under the age of 35 competed to take part in the event and works displayed at the Main and Strategic projects were select by acclaimed curators German Kathrin Becker and Russian Yelena Selina.
The Main project is called “Under the Tinsel Sun,” which is a look at the environment that the new generation lives and works in.
The Strategic project is called “Inconclusive Analysis” and is aimed at exploring the main directions of new young art’s development.
The Parallel project explores alternative art forms such as Oleg Dou’s mix of design and photography, creating mannequin-like portraits of real people.
Widely considered one of the most renowned Moscow art events of the summer, the Third Moscow International Biennale for Young Art’s main project runs from July 11 through August 10 at the Central House of Artists, while the Strategic project runs from July 12 through August 12 at the National Center for Contemporary Art and from July 12 through August 19 at the Moscow Museum of Modern Art.
