Haute 100 Update: Barbra Streisand Presents Donna Karan with Founders Award

Renowned designer Donna Karan was the honored recipient of The Founders Award during the 10th Annual Celebration of Dreams event on Fri., Nov. 18. The fabulous evening was held to benefit The Dream Foundation, which is the first national organization to grant wishes to adults in the end stages of life.

The Celebration of Dreams combined high fashion, world-class entertainment by performers to include Glee‘s Amber Riley and Naya Rivera, and innovative cuisine to result in a magical evening to benefit the organization.

Karan received the award from the foundation in recognition of her accomplishments, and was presented with the honor by entertainment icon and her dear friend Barbra Streisand.

“Donna doesn’t just dress people, she addresses them, mind, body and spirit. She is a creative visionary. Passionate. Forceful. Nurturing. Extremely hands on. And generous to a fault. You can’t help falling in love with her,” said Streisand during her presentation. “As a friend, Donna is thoughtful, funny and mothering – she can’t help herself.”

The incredible evening was topped off with Donna Karan’s Spring 2012 runway show, presented by Saks Fifth Avenue. Ronald Frasch, president of Saks, introduced the star of the night.

“Saks Fifth Avenue is proud to support the incredible work of the Dream Foundation, and no one is more deserving of this honor than our friend, Donna Karan,” said Frasch.
