Regina Arriola’s Travel Diary: Masters Of Style At London’s Somerset House

The Somerset House is a platform for creativity and culture in London, and as a result is the chosen venue for London’s Fashion Week.  The grandiose neo-classical building is situated in the heart of London, and attracts visitors from all over the world for their unique art exhibitions. The most recent collection, Masters Of Style, celebrates the 150^th year anniversary of unification in Italy by showcasing photography chosen by iconic Italian designers Giorgio Armani, Dolce and Gabbana, Salvatore Ferragamo, Gucci, Missoni, and Prada. The exhibition, curated by Peroni Nastro Azzurro and fashion commentator Colin McDowell, highlights the exceptionally crafted art that is Italian fashion.

Together, the six designers being showcased have distinguished the Italian approach to fashion through one common thread… craftsmanship. Because of these designers, “Made in Italy” is now a label that is synonymous with tradition, precision, and originality. Another shared interest amongst the designers is their appreciation of photography, making this collection especially fitting. “Photos respect past traditions while looking into the future,” said Stefano Gabbana. With a history as rich in tradition and family as that of Italian fashion, the future is sure to uphold their remarkable legacy.
