Partying For a Cause: A Night at Sardi’s Big Success
The stars of Hollywood love to party for a good cause and that’s just what they did this past Thursday, March 18, when they came together for A Night at Sardi’s, an annual event benefiting the Alzheimer’s Association.
Everyone who’s anybody in Hollywood was in attendance, including Demi Moore and her hot-stuff husband Ashton Kutcher, Star Treck-er Chris Pine, and Hollywood’s favorite funny man Seth Rogen and his longtime girlfriend, writer and producer Lauren Miller.
The annual event is usually comprised of Broadway-esque acts and appearances by A-listers and Broadway stars coming together for a good cause. This year, the event was held at L.A.’s Beverly Hilton hotel, where many of the guests received awards for their longtime support to the charity.
A Night at Sardi’s started in 1992 when Laurie Burrows Grad started the foundation in honor of her dad Abe Burrows, a famed director, writer, and Pulitzer Prize winner that lost his battle with Alzheimer’s in 1985.
Many stars have since hopped on the bandwagon of charity to support the Alzheimer’s Association in hopes of finding a cure for the incurable disease. One of them is Soleil Moon Frye who received the Caregiver Award at the event for documenting her father’s struggles with Alzheimer’s in Sonny Boy, a documentary.
Other stars also received awards for their longtime support, like this year’s honorees Garry, Penny, and Ronny Marshall who received the Champions Award. Also receiving recognition this year was Susan Dietz who won the Humanitarian Award for her continuous support to the organization.
Currently, the annual fundraising party has raised more than $18 million in the fight against Alzheimer’s.
