Singer and supermodel Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, who has quite the ace up her sleeve as the First Lady of France, sold her family’s charming Italian cottage back in February of this year — though it seems to have popped back up in the real estate listings. By cottage, I mean 40-room, 21,000 square foot Italian castle, complete with 175 plush acres of orchards, greenhouses, and secret gardens among other highlights. Bruni’s father, Alberto Bruni Tedeschi, purchased the home in 1952 for approximately $1.5 million.
After selling it to a Saudi businessman Prince Alwaleed bin Talal, the humble abode is back on the market, listed at a cool $28 million. The Castello di Castagneto Po is near Turin, and dates back to 1019, though since then it has seen its fair share of destruction and remodeling. So, supermodel, singer, first lady of France, and castle filled with childhood memories? Some girls have all the luck.
