Originally built in 1941 and designed by famed architect Murray Dixon, the existing six-story building, at 3737 Collins Avenue will be gutted and then renovated to include 35 ultra luxury units in what is to be called the north tower. A new 19-story south tower with 68 units will be built alongside it. Both buildings will front the ocean. Renovations and construction are slated to begin in early 2006. Units in the existing building will span up to 1,748 square feet; units in the new tower will span up to 3,910 square feet. Prices will begin at $1 million. Penthouse pricing will be available upon request. To help marry the ritzy feel of the era with 21st century styling and conveniences, the developers have commissioned world-famous Christopher Ciccone as interior designer and Kobi Karp as exclusive architect.
