Haute Spots for a Quick Beauty Fix in a Hurry

The amount of things that can go wrong when we are in a hurry is likely infinite! If you mess up the base of your makeup, it might feel like the end of the world. Too much blush is also the stuff of nightmares if it happens right before you are leaving your home. The following tips will help you fix a couple of common problems that would otherwise ruin your night:

Blush Much?

We have experienced this issue at least once in our lives. The blush you applied was looking fine right up to the moment you are about to step out. Then it feels as if you have emptied the whole powder container on your cheeks. If you do wash it off, you will have to do your makeup all over again. The simplest solution to this problem is to take a clean blush brush, dip it into translucent powder, and use it to tone down the blushing cheeks. For users of cream blushes, using applying moisturizer lightly onto your cheeks will calm down both you and the color on them.

Weeping Eye Shadow

You walked out with the most perfect smoky eyes earlier in the evening. As the evening progressed however, the eye shadow decided to drift onto your cheekbones. The first thing that you need to do is take the hand wiping it off away from your face! Then, rush to the ladies room, smother a sponge in moisturizer and use the lotion to ease your troubles away.

Eyeliners on the Run

Crooked eyeliners are bad news! If you want eyeliner that looks as if applied by a professional, then you can. In order to do so, use the eyeliner to place small dots along your lash line. Then join the dots for a clean look. If the dots are too high or uneven while you are applying it, use a small brush dipped in moisturizer to smudge it and sport a smoky look.

Being Slick can be a Bad Thing

While out, you happen to catch your reflection in the mirror and see that your face is shiny with oil, do not lose it. Simply go to a bathroom stall and leave whatever is left of your makeup still on. Use the toilet seat-cover paper as the solution! Dab all the oil away with it and take care not to rub or you'll smear the makeup all over your face.

Smeared Lipstick

Even when you took some extra time that you didn’t have to apply your lipstick properly by anchoring with a lip pencil or some powder around the edges, smears can happen. If they do happen to you, don’t curse your stars but take out the trusty bottle of your moisturizer and dip a clean lip brush in it. Then correct the smear with the wet brush and go back to smiling.

Puffy Eyes

Some nights, even against our better judgment, we stay up throughout. It may be because you had some work you just had to finish or because you could not put the book down. No matter what the reason, the result will be the same every time you do not enough sleep. Lackluster skin and puffy eyes that are sporting dark shadows clue in most people to your state. The pasty look is due to the slowed metabolism that also slows down blood flow in your skin. The situation becomes worse if you already have dark circles because exhaustion will make them look even darker. What you can do is slather on a ginseng-containing mask so that it wakes up your skin. For the shadows under your eyes, use concealer at the lower lid corners.

The Curse of the Powder

Your bronzer is your life and you tend to take it with you everywhere. While doing so may have saved your life a couple of times, dropping it and watch it break into a million pieces could leave you stranded! You might tell yourself that you can always buy a new one and that is okay. However, you will be only able to do so later. What about now? How are you to touch up if you throw the powder out? By not throwing it away, that’s how. With the tip of a bobby pin, complete the job until the powder is full of small pieces. Next, pour rubbing alcohol into the powder case. Press down on the lid after you have closed it. Wait for a minutes until it settles down and dries out, then use it!

Glossing it Up

Lip glosses can make your lips look amazingly glossed up but their brief staying power usually leaves a lot to desire. If you like to keeps ‘em glossed up, then you can use the following tip for your lips. Blend a soft lip pencil the color of your lips on to them. Once you are done, apply your lip gloss over it and your gloss will last much longer!

Breakouts, Not for Glamour Girls

You knew that you were going to get a pimple right on the day that you need to go out! Postpone the outing? Go as you are and brave people’s stares? How about a third option that involves this nifty tip and will get rid of the unicorn horn you’re sporting! Reduce the swelling by placing an ice pack for 5-10 minutes. Once it goes down a bit, wipe that part dry without rubbing it. Next, put some benzoyl peroxide cream on a cotton swab and blot the pimply area with it.

Then, you need to remove any flakes that are left with a washcloth. The next thing is to get a medicated acne treatment and work it into skin around the pimple. Keep doing so until it is hidden and dot the pimple with little cake concealer in the middle. Push the concealer into the skin and build another thin layer. The last layer should consist of translucent powder.
