Hip-hop throne-sharer and New York Nets part-owner Jay-Z isn’t just dealing with the business side of the Brooklyn-bound NBA franchise. Kris Humphries–remembered by many as reality TV fixture Kim Kardashian’s ex-husband and a few as a pro basketball player–recently tweeted Hova after signing a fresh $24 million two-year contract with the Nets. “I’m up at Brooklyn,” he tweeted on Tuesday. “Lucky I didn’t have Jay drop me from the team lol!”
The post referenced a barely-veiled diss tossed out in April by Kanye West, a buddy of Jay’s who’s currently courting Kardashian and the cameras that trail her. “And I fell in love with Kim/ Around the same time she fell in love with him/ Well that’s cool baby girl, do your thing/ Lucky I sain’t had Jay drop him from the team,” went the lyrics to West’s single “Way Too Cold.” Jay-Z has yet to respond on his Twitter account, which is dominated by posts pushing his string of upcoming concerts at the Barclays Center, which will also house the Nets when it opens this fall.
