- Bio David O. Russell is certainly having an epic few years in Hollywood. He directed three of the most critically acclaimed films of the last three years, The Fighter, Silver Linings Playbook and American Hustle, the former of which earned him Academy Award nods for Best Director, and the latter of which earned him a Golden Globe nomination. O’Russell also sits on the Ghetto Film School’s Board of Directors.
