COMPANY: The Trump Organization
INDUSTRY: Real Estate
WHAT MAKES HIM HAUTE: Everyone is familiar with The Donald’s real estate (and reality television) empire, but they may not be entirely familiar with his South Florida ties. Trump purchased Palm Beach’s magnificent Mar-A-Lago estate in 1985 and used the immense palace as his personal home for a number of years before turning it into one of the country’s most exclusive private clubs a decade later. It is the last remaining Palm Beach estate that is almost identical to the day it was built, albeit with modern comforts and upgrades, which led it to be placed on the National Register of Historic Places. The real estate mogul also has three Trump-branded properties in South Florida (one in Hollywood and two in Sunny Isles), as well as Trump International Golf Club in Palm Beach.
