Ludovic du Plessis On Why Are French Women So Beautiful
  • Ludovic du Plessis
  • “Drink LOUIS XIII, drink time" After studies in marketing at Paris Dauphine University, Ludovic du Plessis started his career in communications for French fine wine, a job that reflected his appreciation of wines and spirits. Passion for the product has driven his career path ever since, be it marketing manager for hand-rolled cigars to brand manager for Dom Perignon and now LOUIS XIII Executive Director. People are the next most important factor in his career choices. It was his meeting with Richard Geoffroy, the famous cellar master of Dom Perignon, that led him in 2004 to seek a post for the great champagne house, where he spent the next 10 years. In 2011 he moved to New York to develop Champagne brands in the US, thriving on the energy and enthusiasm of the Big Apple. He joined LOUIS XIII in 2014 to take on a new global challenge and with the ambition to reveal to the world the extraordinary story of LOUIS XIII, in close relationship with Baptiste Loiseau, Cellar Master. One said about LOUIS XIII that there is one century in a bottle. That is true, each decanter takes four generations of cellar masters over 100 years to craft. Born in Paris, his grandfather owned the first restaurant on the Caribbean island of Saint Martin, where Ludovic spent his summers and nurtured his love of good company and fine food and spirits. He considers himself an ambassador of French art de vivre and takes pride in representing the respect for craftsmanship and time that prevails in the creation of Louis XIII. Married with three children, he loves to entertain and his ideal way to share LOUIS XIII is with friends before dinner. Despite his busy, international lifestyle, he makes sure to find a place in every city where he can recharge and unwind in peace like the roof top of Time Square. Ludovic du Plessis admires people who surpass themselves, see things through and care about the legacy they leave behind. He is an avid tennis player and in 2014 ran the New York marathon for the second time, raising funds for charity on both occasions. He is also involved in annual fundraisers for the DiCaprio Foundation.
