Moana Surfrider’s Nightly Wine Event Gets Upgraded

The historic Moana Surfrider in Waikiki launched a nightly wine service back in 2007, but it didn’t last too long. Still, the concept — a nightly wine event with food pairings in the lobby of Waikiki’s oldest hotel — was a good one. So in December 2011, Chef Will Chen relaunched the event — but with a twist.

Julia Child said it best: “Life itself is the proper binge.” So in honor of the award-winning chef’s 100th birthday anniversary, The Kahala Hotel & Resort is hosting a month-long series of culinary events, dinners and a la carte menu items made from the recipes in Child’s famous cookbook, “Mastering the Art of French Cooking,” in August.
