Dior Men Artistic Director, Kim Jones‘ capsule collection launched at Maxfield in LA and the space is out of control. Not only does it feature a lust-worthy selection of products—designed by Jones himself—the artist KAWS reimagined and redesigned the Dior logo and the iconic bee.
Included in the selection of products for purchase is an assortment of Dior x KAWS t-shirts, sweatshirts, backpacks and several other pieces, such as denims with “a special craft of Japanese Boro, which is a complex 17th century embroidery technique that gives the clothes extra resistance and strength,” per the brand. This gives casual denim a more upscale “couture” look and feel.
The display of gorgeous accessories is also noteworthy, including the reinterpreted Saddle Bag for men and the Dior Oblique line of bags and sneakers. But the Oblique BMX bike is what really steals the show. It is made from impressive materials such as transparent hand guards and pedals, mirror chrome and the Dior Obliqe print on transparent mesh. It comes with an aluminum case with top and side handles to transport easily, also touting the Dior Oblique pattern.
