The Annual Vizcaya Ball has remained one of Miami’s most anticipated charity galas of the year, inviting guests of the city to come celebrate the preservation of one of our city’s most beautiful landmarks, while enjoying a night of luxury, fashion and giving back. This year’s event is poised to be nothing short of spectacular, with the prestigious Chopard as the presenting sponsor and an exclusive fashion presentation by Naeem Khan. Guests will have the opportunity to bid on some of the most coveted diamond pieces the brand has to offer, including the iconic Happy Diamonds White Gold Diamond and Rubies Heart Pendant with Chain by Chopard. In light of the upcoming affair, Haute Living chatted with Leyla Portela, Chopard Boutique Director, to get a sneak-peek into what’s to come from the opulent gala, why the cause is so special to Chopard and more.

HL: Why have you chosen to align your brand with this event?
LP: We were inspired by Vizcaya’s similar commitment to sustainability. Chopard is committed to using 100 percent Ethical gold in all its jewelry and timepieces, while Vizcaya is committed to preservation in a sustainable way.
HL: Why is the cause special to the brand?
LP: Vizcaya was designed to look like it was several centuries old yet the house features many modern technologies. This made me think of our history, craftsmanship and marvel at our ability to create modern and functional pieces to be enjoyed for years to come.
HL: What will the brand be showcasing at the event?
LP: A variety of jewelry and timepieces featuring some Red Carpet collection pieces, High Jewelry pieces, our most iconic collections such as Happy Diamonds and a myriad of unique timepieces. The highlighted item is our auction piece—we are proud to have donated a Happy Diamonds Heart Necklace with diamonds and rubies, which retails at $17,800, for bidding.
HL: What are you most looking forward to?
LP: Seeing it all come together beautifully to raise funds for Vizcaya Museum and Gardens.
The Vizcaya Ball will take place on Saturday, November 17th, 2018 at 7 p.m. The night begins at the red carpet entrance into the beautiful Gilded Age estate, leading into the gardens and Courtyard for a Chinese-themed cocktail soiree. The evening continues with entertainment and an elegant Persian-Moroccan inspired affair and dinner overlooking Biscayne Bay.
