Dior: From Paris To The World Exhibit To Open In Denver

This season, Denver, Colorado is rolling out the red carpet in honor of haute couture. Beginning on Monday, November 19, the Denver Art Museum will serve as the home to the latest Dior exhibit, Dior: From Paris To The World. The exhibit, which will be in town for three months, spans 70 years of the iconic House of Dior’s fashion legacy and global influence.

The exhibit features a selection of more than 200 couture dresses plus accessories, costume jewelry, photographs, drawings, and runway videos. The exhibit highlights pivotal moments in the House of Dior’s past and focuses on how Christian Dior made history by cementing his fashion house’s reputation in under a decade.

We are then introduced to the rebirth of Dior via the subsequent artistic directors including Yves Saint Laurent, Marc Bohan, Gianfranco Ferré, John Galliano, Raf Simons, and Maria Grazia Chiuri who carried Dior’s vision into the 21st century.

This exhibition is organized by the Denver Art Museum (DAM) and curated by Florence Müller, the DAM’s Avenir Foundation Curator of Textile Art and Fashion. It features exhibition design by internationally renowned architect Shohei Shigematsu, principal of OMA New York.

The Ramble Hotel takes inspiration from French salons of the 17th century with its name serving as a nod to Catherine de Vivonne, Marquise de Rambouillet. The hotel invites guests for a night of vintage-inspired joie de vivre. Their “Chauffeur to Dior” package includes chauffeur service in a vintage Rolls Royce for four hours, transportation to and from the exhibit, dinner, shopping, as well as a two night suite-stay and a customized in-room Dior inspired shopping experience.

Presented by vintage jewelry extraordinaire, Dan Sharp, guests have the opportunity to purchase from a collection of vintage, one-of-a-kind, signed Dior jewelry pieces curated personally from Sharp’s travels to Paris, and accessorize with the designer’s baubles for the night at the museum.

Pre-show drinks will await your ascent in the hotel’s grand lobby. The “Ginette” cocktail, named in honor of Christian Dior’s sister Mademoiselle Catherine Dior‘s given name, was created by the world-renowned Death & Co.. Using the unique notes of the Miss Dior scent (for which Catherine Dior was the muse), the cocktail is gin-based, accented with crème de rose, sherry, grapefruit, jasmine aroma and served in a vintage glass alongside a perfume atomizer for garnish.

A selection of Dior perfume and cologne will also be displayed for guests to use in their suite’s in-bathroom vanity.

The Jacquard Hotel & Rooftop

The newly opened Jacquard Hotel & Rooftop located in Denver’s iconic Cherry Creek fashion district has created a package ideal for exploring Denver and the history of Dior. Included in the From Paris to the World package is: two VIP front-of-the-line tickets to the exhibit at the time of your choosing, a split of Veuve Clicquot, breakfast for two in Narrative, a ride to Denver Art Museum in Tesla Model X, and a keepsake book by Christian Dior, The Little Dictionary of Fashion.

The staff at the Jacquard, named for French inventor Joseph Marie Jacquard who invented the patterned looming process, are well versed in local and fashion history. Here, they will guide guests in regards to the fashion district and can prepare a tour of the shops, designers, and destinations in the area.

The Hotel Teatro celebrates Dior: From Paris to the World with a VIP package that includes two VIP (untimed and undated) tickets that allow guests to “skip the line” even when the exhibition is “sold out”, transportation to and from the Denver Art Museum, and a $40 breakfast credit to be used in The Study at Hotel Teatro or towards in-room dining.
