The holidays are looming on the horizon and with them, the usual stress and anxiety that can come from overindulgence and too much family time. When you’re in need of a hard-earned break, book a room, brunch, and spa treatment at the Carneros Resort and Spa in Napa Valley. Earlier this year, the hotel debuted a $3.5 million renovation, and the new spa is completely transformed.

Designed by Nina Chiappa Interiors with TLCD Architecture, the spa mimics the farmhouse style that is prevalent throughout the resort. The sage green, taupe, and turquoise color palette is soothing and neutral, inviting and warm. The newly remodeled locker rooms are spacious and clean with full-length wooden lockers, a steam room, and several showers. Water elements provide calming background noise, and a roaring fireplace is the focal point of the co-ed relaxation lounge. A large deck has views of the gorgeous rolling hills. Its welcoming cushy chaise lounges are the perfect place to savor the lingering fall sunshine before or after a treatment.

There are eight treatment rooms, each equipped with heated electronic massage tables that move up, down, and are shaped to one’s body. A new spa requires a new treatment menu and Carneros’ does not disappoint. There are a variety of massages including an aromatherapy-infused herbal poultice massage, a Himalayan salt stone massage, and my personal favorite, a wellness spot treatment that features a special CBD salve. Babor serum and soothing eye creams, results-driven facials, LED light technology, and a hydrating honey mask are options on the skincare treatment menu.

Other rejuvenating offerings? A couple’s treatment with a DIY body scrub, a private outdoor shower rinse, and aphrodisiac elixir massage, a Napa nirvana 90-minute body bliss treatment with green tea mud wrap, and immune boosting olive leaf and rosemary scrub that leaves skin glowing. The spa is located on top of the property directly next to the adult pool, a place that’s idyllic and charming any time of year.
