Ralph Lauren Celebrates 50th Anniversary With Iconic NYFW Show

An icon in American (and global) fashion, Ralph Lauren celebrated the 50th anniversary of his namesake label with an unforgettable show in New York’s Central Park for New York Fashion Week. Not only did he showcase his gorgeous ready-to-wear collection for men and women, but he also did so for his children’s collection.

Of course the focus of the show was the fashion, but it was hard not to notice the laundry list of A-list celebrities who attended to support and enjoy Lauren for such an amazing accomplishment. Notable attendees included Nick Jonas and his new fiancée Priyanka Chopra; Blake Lively and the director of her new film A Simple Favor, Paul Feig; rap and producer superstar Kanye West; Academy Award winners Jessica Chastain and Anne Hathaway; fashion icon Anna Wintour; model Tyson Beckford; young acting sensation Ansel Elgort; timeless supermodel Iman; former First Lady and Presidential Candidate Hillary Clinton; legendary actor Robert De Niro and acclaimed designers Vera Wang, Calvin Klein, Michael Kors and Donna Karan, as well as Steven Spielberg, Chance the Rapper and Oprah Winfrey. Young supermodels Gigi Hadid and Kaia Gerber also walked the show.

The collection focused on warm, autumnal colors with plush and lush fabrics like velvet, cashmere, wool, Toscana shearling and waxed leather. Several pieces touted a fall/winter friendly patchwork design while the Polo collection brought back the iconic Ralph Lauren teddy bear. The American Flag motif that the brand became known for also made several runway appearances.
