With the one-two punch of the Symphony and Opera openings taking place next week, the fall season is about to kick into full swing. Wondering what else we’ll be up to this month? Here is what’s on our September agenda.

An amazing new exhibit by digital installation artist Clifford Ross will be on display at the Fort Mason Center for Arts and Culture September 4-23. Light Waves II is a part of Coal + Ice, an exhibition that explores the impact of climate change through photography. To create his art, Ross wades into ocean waves (the images for this exhibit were shot during a storm off the coast of Long Island) with his camera to caption the water in motion. To ensure that he’s not swept away, Ross is tied to an assistant on shore. This thrilling show should not be missed.
