Louis Vuitton Launches First-Ever Oud, Unisex Fragrance Called Ombre Nomade

With its fairly recent entrance into the haute fragrance space, Louis Vuitton has further expanded its collection by introducing its first-ever Oud scent—which also happens to be unisex—called Ombre Nomade. Created by Master Perfumer Jacques Cavallier Belletrud, the scent focuses on raw materials that complement both men and women.

Like Vuitton’s other fragrances, Ombre Nomade will be available in refillable bottles, but will also be customizable, in 100ml and 200ml sizes. Buyers may also choose to purchase the brand’s sleek leather case, created and crafted in Louis Vuitton workshops, which may be customized with initials of choice. The fragrance is also available in a 7.5ml travel spray bottle with magnetic refills.

Oud is a familiar scent around the world, that has been used in countless perfumes. LV’s version is elevated with the combination of other high-end scents, as well as souring the best available oud Assam from a family-run plantation in Bangladesh. The agar wood from the plantation has been farmed and cultivated for hundreds of years, giving each bottle of Ombre Nomade a certain richness.

“You can’t fool the connoisseurs,” begins Jacques Cavallier Belletrud. “I absolutely wanted to rise to their expectations.”

The fragrance is currently available as part of a pre-launch in select US boutiques, including New York, Los Angeles, Miami and Atlanta, and will be available worldwide in August. For more information, please visit the brand’s website.
