Haute Living, along with Karma Automotive, held an intimate luncheon to honor Miami’s leading ladies of innovation at new South Beach hot spot, Chotto Matte Miami. The luncheon gathered women in all different fields—from philanthropy to private aviation, auto, theater and media industries—to come together and recognize them for their admirable endeavors to reinvent their fields and garner success in their industries.

Prior to a three-course, sit-down lunch, guests were able to test drive Karma Automotive’s ultra-luxury, electric grand tourer sedan, the Revero. Three striking versions of this beauty were on display at the entrance of the restaurant in grey, black and baby blue colors catching the eyes of those passing by. The Revero was recently named Green Car Journal’s 2018 Luxury Green Car of the Year, boasting top performance, extended battery range, regenerative braking and “luxury performance with the spirit of a GT,” according to Ron Cogan, Editor and Publisher of Green Car Journal. The eco-friendly vehicle can be found at Karma Miami located in North Miami.

In Haute Living‘s Women of Innovation feature, Valerie David Kaye, Creative Director of Karma Miami, praised the innovative automobile and its strides to make living an eco-friendly lifestyle luxurious. She explained that the car, “runs on electricity, fuel and the power of the sun.” She continued, “exquisitely designed luxury cars and the well-being of our environment have never gone hand in hand but with KARMA, luxury car enthusiasts finally have the exhilaration with a conscience.”

And the luxury electric GT is certainly a head-turner. Guests applauded the smooth ride and the luxurious features after test driving the Revero around the Miami Beach streets. “I really enjoyed driving it—it’s so comfortable and smooth!” said fellow innovator Angela Birdman.

Haute Living CEO Kamal Hotchandani echoed those sentiments. “KARMA automotive is a complete game-changer,” he said following his test drive. “Not only does it change the way we think about hybrid cars by adding an ultra-luxury component to it, but it also makes a serious impact on our efforts to save the environment and changing our ways to become more eco-friendly.”

Guests mixed, mingled and enjoyed plant-based mocktails as the test drives took place, after which, they sat down for a delectable lunch. Chotto Matte incorporated some of its signature dishes into the menu including the Nikkei Sashimi, Chotto Ceviche, Spinach Truffle Salad, Pollo Den Miso, Salmon Nipon and Sarriguta de Chanchito (pork belly with nashi pear).

Before dessert was served, Hotchandani stood up to give a heartfelt toast to the room of powerful women. “It’s an honor to put together such an amazing group of women in one room. I first want to thank KARMA for their efforts to make the world a better place. Everyone in this room showcases excellence and innovation in their respective fields. I want to thank you for making Miami great,” he said as he raised his glass of Champagne and the room clinked glasses in celebratory cheers.
