Wondering where to take mom this Sunday? Here are eight lovely restaurants in the Bay Area that are serving spectacular menus.
Aracely Cafe
In between Oakland and San Francisco, Treasure Island is going through a renaissance. One restaurant, Aracely Cafe, has recently updated its offerings with dinner service. However, this Sunday, the team is serving a seasonally-inspired Mother’s Day brunch. Their hearty morning items sound to die for—think grilled rhubarb salad, croissant French toast, and chilaquiles.
Bluestem Brasserie
For Mother’s Day, Bluestem Brasserie is offering a mimosa flight with three different kinds of freshly-squeezed fruit juices. The delicious brunch menu includes cinnamon rolls, buttermilk pancakes, steak and eggs, and a fried chicken sandwich. If you haven’t’ dined at the restaurant in awhile, I highly recommend it—the new chef updated the menu and it’s fantastic!
Son’s Addition
In the Mission at Son’s Addition, chef Nick Cobarruvias is making an extravagant brunch for mom. It includes crab and asparagus crepes with wild mushrooms, morel hollandaise, and ramp green salsa verde. Pair with an inventive low-alcohol cocktail like The 7 & 17, a herbaceous floral cocktail that combines Dolin Blanc with Cocchi American and lime bitters. Cheers!
MKT Restaurant
At the Four Seasons’ restaurant, MKT, mothers can partake in a luxurious three-course brunch. There will be appetizer and dessert buffet stations, and then mom gets to select her entree. There’s something for every taste bud, from artisanal cheese and charcuterie to mixed green salads to mushroom ravioli with truffle creme. The dessert spread sounds enticing: there will be key lime bars, mascarpone panna cotta, chocolate covered strawberries, and banana cream pie.
Waterbar
It’s a Mother’s Day miracle: the fog is expected to clear up, and the sun is supposed to be shining. Take advantage of the weather by enjoying a meal with a picturesque view like Waterbar’s beautiful window on to the Bay. Chef Parke Ulrich is serving a three-course Mother’s Day brunch from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Anchor steam battered rock cod sandwich, American caviar scramble, and smoked tri-tip are a few of the offerings on Ulrich’s menu.
Pesce e Riso
In North Beach, Pesce e Riso is serving a decadent five-course tasting menu at dinner time. The restaurant focuses on preparations of locally caught fish, so if mom is a seafood lover, surprise her with a meal that includes oysters on the half shell, spicy tuna tartar, and beer-battered petrale.
Acacia House
At Chris Cosentino’s Acacia House, the restaurant at Napa’s new Los Alcobas resort, the team is celebrating Mother’s Day all weekend long. The chef is serving a unique brunch menu with seasonal snacks and savory and sweet main courses.
Farm at Carneros Resort and Spa
Farm at Carneros Resort and Spa, which is one of the best places for brunch in the Napa Valley, is hosting a special Mother’s Day Flower Market. Design a custom bouquet for mom while sipping a glass of sparkling wine and nibbling freshly-fried beignets. Make a reservation and indulge in the multi-course brunch afterward.
