There’s no doubt about it: Louise Roe knows a thing or two about style. The British beauty wrote the book on it— literally. In addition to sharing all her fashion, beauty, and lifestyle favorites on her mega-popular blog, she’s also penned a book on the topic titled Front Roe: How to Be the Leading Lady in Your Own Life. You might also recognize her from the red carpet reporting on trends on Access Hollywood.

The most important hat she wears these days, however, is that of a new mama. Roe welcomed her baby girl Honor earlier this year and with her first Mother’s Day coming up, she hosted a dreamy brunch with Swarovski at chef Dominique Ansel‘s new restaurant, 189 by Dominique Ansel, at The Grove this week. She was joined by other local bloggers to enjoy a dim sum-style brunch with mimosas and celebrate the brand’s new spring and summer collection.

Before the chic event, we caught up with her to talk all things Mother’s Day including her top gift ideas and her plans for the big day.

Congrats on your new bundle of joy! What’s been your favorite thing about being a mom so far?

When she wakes up and smiles at me. I don’t think there’s a more pure form of joy I’ve ever experienced. It’s amazing!

How will you be celebrating your first Mother’s Day?

We will probably all go for a walk in the sunshine. Maybe stroll around the farmer’s market and then have brunch. And I might take a nap— a new luxury!

What’s on your Mother’s Day wish list?

A big hug from Honor,  a strong latte, and maybe some flowers.

What are some of your Mother’s Day gift ideas and recommendations?

Anything sentimental. I’m a sucker for love notes, breakfast in bed, a framed family photo or jewelry if you’re being extra special. I also just had a lash lift from Christina at Sugarin Studio and it was amazing! I want to treat my mum to one of those next time she visits LA. I’m in love with the floral Latisha pieces from Swarovski— very elegant.

What are you gifting your own mom this year?

We are descending on my parents for a whole month! And I’ve got a ton of presents for her packed in my suitcase: matching ballet slippers for her and Honor, some face cream, and a silk scarf.
