Ermenegildo Zegna Celebrates 50th Anniversary Of RTW Business With Exhibition

Ermenegildo Zegna is a staple name when it comes to high-end men’s fashion, known for its tailored looks and high quality craftsmanship. To commemorate the 50th anniversary of its ready-to-wear business, the brand has unveiled an exhibition called “Uomini all’italiana 1968” in Casa Zegna, which will give visitors an up-close look at the inception of Zegna RTW from 1968 through the late 1970s.

Open to the public on Sundays from May until October, viewers will be taken on a visual journey to explore the various components that went into Ermenegildo Zegna’s work, including textile production and “artisan commercialization.” Pieces from the brand’s historical archives have been pulled for the exhibition, including period pieces, articles of clothing, vintage materials and photographs.

Casa Zegna in Trivero, Northern Italy, also happens to be where Ermengildo Zegna opened the Zegna wool mill in 1910. In 1968, Zegna, with his two sons, began the ready-to-wear business. Given Zegna’s long-standing relevance and dominance in an ever-changing fashion market, the exhibition will surely be one that is equal parts intriguing and informative.
