Scott Eastwood On Pacific Rim Uprising, Travel, And His Favorite Workouts

Scott-Eastwood

Scott Eastwood hit the big screen yet again last month with the premiere of Pacific Rim Uprising. Before he jetted off around the world for a press tour, we had the pleasure of stealing Eastwood away for a few minutes to chat about the film, his recent trip to Japan, and his favorite workouts.

Tell us about your new film?

It’s in the future so everything is totally cooler because the future is cool–obviously. And there’s a few little surprises. We got some of the same characters coming back. Charlie Day is coming back and a few of the other peeps.

What was filming like?

We shot in Australia and in China, which was awesome. The entire experience was really fun down there.

What was the most challenging part of filming?

It was hot in the middle of summer and I was doing a lot of action so that was tough.

Anyone that follows you Instagram knows that you travel a lot. What are some of your favorite places to visit?

Well it’s a long list but I would say Cape Town, Japan, Australia, and Tahiti.

Where was your last trip to?

My last trip was to Japan. We explored and we did a lot. We went to the fish market. We took a Kendo class which is a traditional sword fighting class. We went there for ANA the airline. It was an incredible experience. If you ever go to Japan, definitely take ANA. It was a really great experience.

That sounds amazing. What was the highlight of the trip?

Eating my way through Japan. It was amazing. [My favorite was] a toss up between the ramen and the sushi. Both were really good.

What other places are still on your bucket list?

I’ve never been to India and Russia.

With so much traveling, how do you manage to keep up with your workouts?

You just got to get up and do it. You gotta squeeze it in wherever you can. If I’m traveling for work, sometimes I’ll squeeze it in during lunch in the middle of a press day. It’s just about getting up and going wherever you are.

What are your favorite types of workouts?

I like to swim. I like to do Jujutsu and Muay Thai. I like to hit the weights. I’m always changing it up.

What are you working on next?

I got a movie that starts after. I can’t quite talk about it but I think you’ll like it.
