On Thursday night, a radiant Britney Spears sparkled and shimmered at the 2018 GLAAD Media Awards, where she was honored with the evening’s top honor, the organization’s Vanguard Award.

The Princess of Pop, who attended with boyfriend Sam Asghari, showed off her fabulous figure in a Giannina Azar dress and Louboutins while accepting her award from Ricky Martin. The Vanguard Award is presented to media professionals who have made a significant difference in promoting equality and acceptance of LGBTQ people.

Highlights included a surprise appearance by the cast of The Boys in the Band, who joined Ryan Murphy to present Jim Parsons with his honor, while Halle Berry presented Lena Waithe with the award for Outstanding Individual Episode (in a series without a regular LGBTQ character) for “Master of None.”

At the event, celebrities sported blue “&” pins for GLAAD’s Together movement—representing GLAAD’s work on intersectional issues including immigration, racial justice, women’s rights, and LGBTQ acceptance. This subtle yet powerful symbol represents the power of solidarity and great accomplishments that occur when marginalized community groups resist together.
