Nobu as a brand has quickly become more than just cuisine; it has become a lifestyle. When Nobu decided to imprint their unique culinary talent in balancing art, luxury, and theatrics into hospitality, they may not have anticipated seven hotels and their evergrowing collection of properties.

“Nobu is constantly evolving and we touch all types of customer. This is truly an exciting time for Nobu Hotels. Our brand is already well-established globally but staying in tune with our next generation of customer is at the forefront of our brand[‘s] ethos,” said Nobu Hospitality Group CEO Trevor Horwell.

Five new hotels are set to open in 2018 with one more opening in 2019. Plans for three additional hotels and two penthouse residences have also recently been announced; making that a total of 11 new properties for the hospitality group.

At the pace they’re going, it’s reasonable to believe in the group’s 2020 trajectory: 20 Nobu hospitality properties worldwide.

It is worth noting that Nobu Hotels was only recently founded in 2009. The restaurant was founded in 1994 by Nobu Matsuhisa, the actor Robert De Niro, and film producer Meir Teper. But as a group, the lifestyle brand will be celebrating a total of 24 years in the hospitality industry in 2018. The secret to their longevity? The chef of course, but also content!

“Fundamental to the brand is customer content. Content creates memorable experiences and Nobu’s intention is nothing less than to stir the industry with [a] new and exciting product but more so it’s what our customer says about us that matters,” said Horwell.

Thanks to their culinary panache and worldwide success, the Nobu Hospitality Group name is proof enough that an accumulative trajectory of 20 properties by 2020 is completely doable.
